Jim Kenworth is a Playwright, Arts Educator and Creative Writing Tutor, living and working in East London.
His plays include Johnny Song, Gob, Polar Bears, When Chaplin Met Gandhi, and have been performed at venues across the UK including Warehouse Theatre, King's Head Theatre, Soho Theatre, Harrogate Theatre and Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
He currently devises, leads and facilitates playwriting workshops with Newham primary and secondary school pupils, including devising creative writing programmes for after school clubs, G & T pupils, and Summer schools.
He has also written commissioned plays for community groups and charities to raise awareness on topical and sensitive subjects such as elder abuse, knife crime and disability and equality awareness.
He is one of eight playwrights who have recently been selected for the Writers Attachment Scheme run by Tamasha Theatre/Mulberry School for Girls in Tower Hamlets, and led by Playwright-in-Residence Fin Kennedy.
He is Associate Artist with Theatre Venture, with whom he is developing the plays 'When Chaplin Met Gandhi' and 'A Dog's Life'.
