“A Dog’s Life” is a theatre-in-education tour of a new play by Jim Kenworth. The play is a witty and relevant re-telling of the Romeo and Juliet story set in the estate gangs of East London and seen through the eyes of the “weapon dogs” owned by some of the gang members.
“A Dog’s Life” will tour schools in Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest, with 64 performances over a main six-week tour. There will also be a two-week tour to South Islington. Each performance will have an audience of up to 90 from Years 10 and 11. A teachers’ pack accompanying the tour will enable each school to follow up performances with activities and discussions linking performance themes with curriculum topics.
