In 2010 Jim was appointed Newham City Farm's first Writer-in-Residence, a unique partnership between east london charity Community Links and Newham City Farm, that offers innovative creative writing experiences for visitors to the Farm, particularly children and young people.
East London charity Community Links organised a month-long writer residency at Newham City Farm in Beckton, East London, to encourage children and young people to write and draw about their experiences of visiting the inner city farm.
He devised and faclitated a rolling programme of drama, prose and poetry workshops together with a series of creative writing exercises for children and young people who are visiting Newham City Farm. Over a hundred young people ranging from 3-12yrs took part.
